Letter from the Board of Deacons
Dear Church Family,
The Deacons have reinvigorated the Pastoral Relations Committee! This is a group within the deacons’ board that works to keep communications open between our congregation and our pastor. We’ve always had some informal version of this, but we’d like to make it clearer and more helpful for everyone. Here’s how it will work: Three deacons will take this on: May Clark, Katharine Fox, and Libby Haddock. We will have regular check-ins with Traceymay three times a year, and we will get together in between those times as needed. We invite the congregation to communicate with one of the three of us with suggestions or comments regarding worship at any time through email. (tclark040@gmail.com, foxkatharine@gmail.com, libbyhaddock@gmail.com) We will communicate with our pastor and the other deacons, if appropriate, and get back to you. We will be communicating with Traceymay regularly in the same way. Everything that is discussed regarding these conversations will be held in confidence. We hope that this new process will help everyone to feel heard, and will, we hope, help to clear our pastor’s calendar. And of course, if you have thoughts about this committee, you can communicate with Katharine, Libby, or me.
Sincerely, May Clark, Chair of Deacons
